Is Naked Truth Better than Dressed Lie?
There was this Impromptu question during one of the contests held in my company.
The late American advice columnist, Ann Landers once gave this piece of advice, 'The naked truth is always better than the best dressed lie.'
Would you take her advice and speak the truth plainly, or practice the art of diplomacy?
For me i feel that at times, one has to tell a white lie rather than reveal the truth as it may in turn hurt one's feelings. How many times in our lives do we lie? Or rather, how many times do we tell the truth? When we were kids, we had been told not to tell the real truth. For instance, when we see this really fat and ugly gal wearing sleeveless shirt and mini skirt and she asked for comments, we are 'not supposed' to comment on the real truth. Instead, we kept quiet about it or even tell a white lie in order to keep her happy.
It's harmless to tell white lie though. But don't you think it's deceiving ourselves?
Comment abt it!
